About The Shops at Prudential Center
Located in the heart of Boston's historic Back Bay, the landmark Prudential Center is a 3.2 million SF mixed-use urban center comprised of 2.6 million SF of office space and 620,000 SF of retail space. The office component of the Prudential Center consists of the Prudential Tower, 111 Huntington Avenue, and 101 Huntington Avenue. The 52-story Prudential Tower was built in 1965 and is Boston’s second tallest office building. 111 Huntington Avenue, a 36-story Class A office building opened in September 2001. Completed in 1973, the 25-story 101 Huntington Avenue office building serves as headquarters to Arnold Worldwide. In 2002, the building was re-clad with pink Spanish granite and a decorative cornice giving it distinction in the Boston skyline.
The Shops at Prudential Center, the retail component of the complex, is anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor and consists of 75 stores and restaurants. Major retailers include Ann Taylor, Barnes & Noble (Boston’s largest bookstore), The Cheesecake Factory, Club Monaco, Lacoste, Sephora and vineyard vines. With over 60,000 visitors a day, The Shops at Prudential Center is ranked among the top 5 shopping centers in the nation by Women’s Wear Daily. The Prudential Center is home to Boston Duck Tours, the Prudential Center Skywalk (which is Boston’s only observatory), and a wide assortment of amenities including a Fitcorp fitness center, a full-service U.S. Post Office, a Catholic chapel, and Enterprise car rental. The Prudential Center features New England’s largest enclosed parking garage with over 3,800 spaces and direct access to all office buildings as well as The Shops at Prudential Center.
The Prudential Center’s South Garden, a 1.3 acre open-air park located in the apex of the retail arcades and office buildings, provides a relaxing urban oasis complete with water features, a built-in stage for musical performances, and ample seating areas.
