Summer in the City returns to Prudential Center! All summer long, take a lunch break in South Garden while enjoying complimentary performances from Berklee College of Music’s talented students. Concerts run June 5th through August 28th and are brought to us by Boston’s premier institute of music and the performing arts.
Grab a blanket and lunch from one of the Center’s restaurants and shops, and enjoy the following Berklee Summer in the City performers. The South Garden can be accessed across from Shake Shack, and Tree House Brewing Co. or next to Blue Bottle.
Meet the artists below, who each take the stage on Thursdays at 12PM!
Adia Clark Lay is an emerging singer-songwriter known for her captivating blend of indie, folk, and country sounds. Drawing inspiration from artists like Taylor Swift and Kelsea Ballerini, Adia’s heartfelt lyrics and distinctive sound fuses indie folk with a country twist that explores the themes of love, nostalgia, and personal growth (which are often rooted in her own life experiences and relationships).
Originally from Clark, Colorado, Aida has spent years honing her craft on stage, performing both locally and beyond. She has been named best solo musician in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, three years in a row and continues to build a dedicated following through performances at venues across Boston. Her latest work reflects the beauty of her Colorado roots, featuring local scenery and small businesses, while also incorporating Nashville collaborations to bring her songs to life.
Ian Coury and Estefanía Núñez Villamandos unite their exceptional talents in a musical collaboration that bridges the traditions of Brazilian choro, MPB (música popular Brasileira), Cuban jazz, and contemporary global sounds. Together, Ian and Estefanía offer a fresh, electrifying perspective on Latin American music that creates a dynamic and innovative musical dialogue, fusing rhythm, harmony, and improvisation with remarkable creativity.
Ian, a virtuoso of the 10-string mandolin from Brasília, Brazil, has captivated audiences worldwide with his technical mastery and fresh approach to Brazilian music. He has performed with legends such as Paquito D’Rivera and Hamilton de Holanda, while also pioneering choro education in the US.
Estefanía, a gifted pianist, composer, and arranger from Havana, Cuba, blends her deep roots in Cuban music with jazz, flamenco, and Latin American folklore. She has collaborated with acclaimed musicians including Aldo López Gavilán and Aida Cuevas.
ROWAN is a powerhouse vocalist and dynamic performer known for his vocal agility, emotional depth, and undeniable stage presence. Blending classical and theatrical training with modern pop and R&B influences, he crafts a cinematic listening experience that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
Moving effortlessly between soaring belts, intricate melismas, and sultry, intimate tones, ROWAN captivates audiences through heartfelt ballads and electrifying pop anthems that highlights his technical precision and magnetic energy.
Entering the industry with a mission to revive the era of male pop artists, ROWAN is carving out a space of his own, defined by commanding vocals, immersive storytelling, and striking visual performance. Years of solo work and professional dance training have shaped his artistry, allowing him to create live shows that are as visually engaging as they are vocally powerful. His debut album is set for release in fall 2025.
Cas is an artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist originally from São Paulo, Brazil. Their repertoire includes songs in both Portuguese and English, blending Brazilian genres with R&B and soul influences. Some of Cas’s biggest inspirations include MARO, Jordan Rakei, and the Brazilian trio Tuyo. Currently pursuing a degree in independent recording and production at Berklee, Cas is producing their first original EP – their debut single, “Feel,” set to be released this summer!
With deep gospel roots and a fusion of R&B, soul, and hip-hop, J. Cordell captivates listeners with his mesmerizing voice and heartfelt lyrics. His music takes audiences on an emotional journey through love, life, and everything in between.
Performing since his freshman year of high school, J. Cordell has a natural ability to draw audiences into his world. His live shows deliver a compelling blend of pop, trap, and R&B, all tied together by authentic storytelling. He recently introduced himself to the world with his debut EP, “One More Second Chance.” Before this release, he earned a Grammy nomination for his work on the 2024 children’s music album “Hip Hope for Kids.”
Anna Vtipil is an indie folk singer-songwriter, composer, and producer originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. Her singer-songwriter and folk influences, combined with her experience in vocal arranging and composition, contribute to a sound that is both unique and emotionally expressive. Anna focuses on creating an acoustic, intimate atmosphere, often featuring guitar, piano, violin, cello, and layered vocals. She draws inspiration from artists such as Fiona Apple, Slow Pulp, and Madison Cunningham, crafting music that is personal and sonically rich. Her debut album, “Anyone to You,” was released on May 3, 2024 on all streaming platforms. The 10-track project explores the trials and errors of friendships and relationships, all while navigating the search for belonging.
Analise’s sound fuses the timelessness of folk lyricism with the nuance of modern bedroom pop production. Growing up in New Hampshire, Analise developed a deep-rooted DIY ethos, crafting not just her music but also the world around it.
Writing, recording, producing, and directing every aspect of her work, Analise draws inspiration by the hands-on artistry of Dijon and Omar Apollo and the lyrical transparency of Adrienne Lenker and Leith Ross. These inspirations are reflected in her passion for songwriting and reflection of her relentless need to express herself.
Analise has already struck a chord with listeners with her six self-released singles and a debut EP, “Oshibana” (which was praised by Wonderland Magazine for its raw exploration of young love). Her single “Messy” pulled at heartstrings on TikTok, amassing over 43,000 streams, while her latest release “Forever” caught the attention of CLASH and Fashionably Early.
Christian Inman knew from an early age that music was his purpose. Born and raised in Maryland, Christian grew up singing in church with his father who led the praise team. Recognizing his passion, his parents nurtured his musical talent in every way they could.
After creating a buzz with his breakout single “Talk to Me,” Inman followed up with “All I Need,” a deeply personal track about the bravery it takes to navigate life independently. With lyrics that speak to self-assurance and self-love, the song delivers a powerful message of inner strength—serving as a confidence anthem for anyone on a journey of self-discovery.
Now, after two successful releases, Christian brings listeners back to the dance floor with his latest single, “Exhale.” Written and produced by Christian himself, the track paints a scene where a couple encourages each other to let go, take a breath, and groove. “Exhale” invites audiences to relax, release, and have fun.
TESI is a 20-year-old singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist born and raised in New York City. Now based in Boston to attend Berklee, she is recording her original, cross-genre music, which is set to be released soon! With a unique sound that blends influences across styles, TESI is an artist on the rise, ready to share her voice with the world.
EYZA is a Boston-based singer-songwriter originally from Peru. She merges her love for Afro-Peruvian rhythms with R&B, pop, and funk to create a vibrant, genre-blending sound. Inspired by her life, identity, sense of purpose, and love, EYZA brings warmth and intention to every song, infusing her favorite sounds with deep emotional connection.
A finalist on La Voz Kids (The Voice Kids) and two-time winner of Pequeños Gigantes, EYZA gained large-scale stage experience from a young age. Her debut EP, “La Fuente del Amor,” was featured on national radio stations in Peru. She also has worked as a background vocalist on the reality competition show “El Artista del Año” (artist of the year) – with Peruvian television hostess, actress, and businesswoman, Gisela Valcárcel – and has collaborated with acclaimed local artists and producers, including Shantall Young, Daniela Darcourt, Estrella Torres, and Wilder Pacherres.
With her highly anticipated album PROPOSITO on the way, EYZA is ready to share her story, amplify her voice, and celebrate her Peruvian roots like never before.
Maggie Welch is an indie folk artist with a funky twist, blending reflective songwriting with powerful themes of healing and self-discovery. Currently studying music therapy and songwriting at Berklee, Maggie believes deeply in the transformative power of music. Her ultimate goal is to guide others toward emotional healing through her songs.
Raised in the secluded forests of New England, Welch draws inspiration from the introspective solitude of nature, an influence that runs deep in her music. Her songs invite listeners to reflect on mental health, environmental awareness, and the complexities of personal identity. She takes influence from lyrical storytellers like Jensen McRae, Shallow Alcove, and Kevin Atwater, as well as artists such as Sammy Rae, Olivia Dean, and Melt. Her debut single, “Anxiety,” available now on all streaming platforms.
